Classification and characteristics of lathe spindle bearings

The spindle bearing of a lathe is the core component of a machine tool, and its working environment temperature and humidity often affect the normal operation of the bearing. The following are some common types of lathe spindle bearings:

1. Deep groove ball bearing: Deep groove ball bearing is the most widely used spindle bearing, with excellent radial and axial bearing capacity, and the characteristics of low noise, low vibration, and high precision.

2. Angular contact ball bearing: Angular contact ball bearing is a type of bearing that can withstand both radial and axial loads, with advantages such as high load-bearing capacity and low noise. Its application range is wide.

3. Bidirectional thrust angle contact ball bearing: Bidirectional thrust angle contact ball bearing can withstand bidirectional axial and radial forces, with higher load-bearing capacity and stability, and can still maintain good performance in harsh working environments.

4. Double row cylindrical roller bearing: The two rows of rollers in the double row cylindrical roller bearing are arranged in a cross manner, greatly improving the speed and efficiency of the bearing, especially suitable for high-speed and high-precision machining needs.

5. Conical roller bearings: Conical roller bearings can withstand both radial and axial loads, with high load-bearing capacity and precision, making them particularly suitable for environments where the spindle operates at high speeds for long periods of time.

In addition, to meet the needs of high-precision machining, double row cylindrical roller bearings and angular contact ball bearings will also be used in CNC center work engineering.

The spindle bearings need to be cleaned and lubricated in a timely manner during operation, as oil and impurities may be generated during use. If not cleaned in a timely manner, it will affect the performance and service life of the spindle bearings.

Regular replacement of lubricating oil and cleaning of bearings can maximize the service life of spindle bearings. At the same time, attention should also be paid not to overload the spindle bearings to avoid damage.
